Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for a Truck Mechanic at our Truck Shop location in Saint Leonard, NB.
This is an excellent opportunity for a team player with a contagious can-do attitude in the workplace. We’re looking for a diesel mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of transport trucks. This is a physically demanding position that requires the candidate to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities and requirements:
- Repairing and replacing parts and components of commercial truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
- Inspect and test engines to locate faults and malfunctions
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
- Estimate parts and labour costs
- Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance service
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Truck Mechanic License preferred
- Previous dealership experience is considered an asset
- Strong computer diagnostics & repair skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Schedule:
- 9-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On-Call rotation
- Possible overtime
